About Amirtham Sweets
Amirtham sweet home was first opened as ‘Meenatchi Iyer mixture kadai’ in 1946. Its unique name was invented over 1980s by A N M Ramakrishna Iyer to distinguish the sweet shop with delicacies from its rival across the road and it’s been fondly used since then. The business has passed down through many owners over the years but it always has retained its unique and traditional characters. Be sure to check out the photo boards and reviews displayed around the shop which highlight the local nostalgia in what is now a famous Madurai-Munichalai landmark.
We pride ourselves on being a traditional and trendy sweet and savories shop serving healthy-quality crunches at reasonable prices. Particularly popular are Cashew halwa, Kaju katli, Seer murukku, Kara sev. We are passionate about keeping the traditional savories alive including Potato masala, Tirunelveli halwa, which are hugely popular with the locals! Where possible we use locally produced seasonal products to support other businesses in the surrounding area.
We have updated our standards to the next level by making a quality check on all batches. This and our warm friendly attitude towards customers mean we have built a reputation for fantastic quality and service. Open 24 * 7, there’s no excuse not to come and give us a try!!!!
